Imagine: a small-scale care institution, beautifully situated in the green or in the middle of the city. Residents live in their own apartment, surrounded by warmth, comfort and personal attention. Not standard care, but a living environment in which people can really remain themselves.
No one is looking forward to the day when we need care, but it is a reassuring thought that care is possible in this way.
From my years of experience at KLM, I know how subtle hospitality can make a difference, even in an environment where safety is paramount. The basis for this is called Serving Safety: cabin crew know exactly when clear instructions are needed, and when a small, reassuring gesture makes all the difference. I see the same balance between expertise and warmth in healthcare: professionals who combine medical quality with sincere attention, so that residents feel seen, safe and welcome.
From Serving Safety to Serving Comfort & Care
Serving Comfort & Care translates that principle into the world of healthcare. It is the ability to combine high-quality, safe care with genuine hospitality.
Because when care feels like home, well-being becomes a natural part of every day. Residents and their families feel safe, seen and valued.
But that is only possible if the people on the shop floor understand, embrace and live by the care philosophy of the organization. They make the vision tangible, in their behavior, in the small moments of attention, in the way they connect and offer comfort.
What I help with
I help healthcare organizations to bring their healthcare philosophy to life in behavior, experience and processes. Together, we translate vision into practice, so that every interaction with residents, clients and their families is consistent and meaningful.
I do this by translating the vision into a distinctive hospitality concept, carefully designing the client journey, training teams in hospitality and implementing solutions that really work in daily practice.
In this way, a beautiful philosophy grows from paper to a living reality, carried by the people who make a difference every day. It’s the difference between being cared for and really feeling at home.
That is the essence of Serving Comfort & Care.
